Epaminondas Koutsiaris
Dr. Koutsiaris A. Epaminondas was born in the city of Volos. He was admitted to the Medical School of the University of Ioannina following the Panhellenic exams. He trained initially in General Surgery and then in Urology at the Athens Anti-Cancer Hospital "Agios Savvas" from where he received the title of Surgical Urology specialty.
During his residency he was a member of the governing committee of specialist urologists and a representative of Greece in the corresponding section of the European Urological Society. Alongside the specialization, he actively participated as a co-investigator physician in five international clinical studies of pharmaceutical active substances in the field of urological oncology.
After receiving the title of the specialty, he attended post-training programs of the European Urology Society abroad and after exams he received the European certification of urology and andrology and holds the title "Fellow of the European Board of Urology".
He is a Doctor of the School of Medicine of the University of Athens. His doctoral thesis is on "History of Orchiectomy" and was prepared by the 1st University Urology Clinic of the School of Medicine of the University of Athens.
As part of the ongoing scientific training, he was retrained in the performance and diagnosis of ultrasounds and after the corresponding examinations, he received the certification and license to perform ultrasounds of the genitourinary system.
The scientific work includes the writing of parts of urological books, the writing of international and Greek publications, his participation and presence in both Greek and international conferences as a keynote speaker. He is an active member of the Hellenic Urological Society, the European Urological Society, the European Society of Sexual Medicine and other scientific societies.
Areas of particular interest are sexual dysfunctions, cosmetic surgical andrology, male infertility and surgical oncology of the genitourinary system.
Dr. Koutsiaris Epaminondas provides his medical services in scientific collaboration with the Kalogirou Woman Clinic in Athens, while at the same time he maintains a specialized medical branch in the city of Volos, the Andrological Clinic of Volos.
