Hyaluronic acid is a substance present in our body and mainly in the skin which absorbs and retains water. Over time, the production of hyaluronic acid decreases, resulting in the appearance of wrinkles and a tired face. Unlike botox which is applied to relax the muscles that create wrinkles, hyaluronic acid is used in areas where we have a loss of fatty tissue as it gives volume.
It can be applied from the age of 18 to both women and men. It is applied to wrinkles between the nasolabial folds, cheekbones, lips, around the lips, forehead and dark circles around the eyes.
The results last around 12-24 months depending on the habits of each person and how intense the wrinkles are. The treatment is contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
